FosterThomas, Inc. is a leading Human Capital Management Firm. We are assisting our client, Chesapeake Crewing (a Bold Ocean company) in their search for a Crewing Coordinator. Job Type Full-time. This position is located at corporate headquarters in Annapolis, MD and will report to the Manager of Marine Personnel.
Expectations and responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assist the Manager of Marine Personnel to meet overall company objectives
Administer and maintain all crew management activities of the department in close coordination with the Manager of Marine Personnel
Maintain Union Dispatch reports and Permanent Crew Rosters
Ensure accurate payroll vetting and coordinate wages and overtime budgets for assigned vessels.
Maintain and update crew data in NSE
Crew Vetting & Retention
Responsible for vetting documents for existing officers and crewmembers aboard vessels. Monitor crew qualifications, performance, and training and maintain Crew Personnel files utilizing NSE
Coordinate Personnel Evaluations. Ensure that all evaluations are performed onboard according to their applicable schedule.
Monitor and maintain the tour planner (weekly rotation reports) if necessary, update the due on and due off dates.
Coordinate with vessel all relief requests ensuring that crewmembers are relieved at the end of their contract.
Request reliefs from Union and ensure that Union(s) acknowledge the crew relief request
Vet documents/training/security requirements for compliance with SMS, COI, CFRs and charter specific requirements, coordinate background checks and pre-employment physicals as required and coordinate with FSO for PCL and EPIC as needed. Upload documentation into NSE
Confirm dispatch with Union and forward to Vessel Master
Coordinate with Master in a timely manner for crew travel – when and where. Ensure that crew changes are completed in the most cost- efficient manner
Contact local area (to the vessel) agent for Airport and Visa requirements.
Book travel with Company approved travel agent(s)
Coordinate with Master and local agents for transportation and lodging
