Our client is a growing and dynamic 1000+ member non-profit trade association located in Calverton, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will provide management and oversight of HR and Employment services and activities and assist in the development and implementation of company HR policies and procedures.
Nature and Scope of the Position:
The Senior Human Resources Generalist administers human resources programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
Benefits Administration – Manage employee benefits programs and services and monitor for competitiveness, effectiveness, and cost containment.
Employee Relations and HR Policies / Procedures – Support employee relations practices necessary to maintain IANA’s positive employer-employee relationships and continue to promote a high level of employee morale.
Compliance Monitoring – Keep management informed of legal requirements and government reporting regulations impacting the human resources functions including COBRA, OSHA, FLSA, EEO, ERISA, I-9 immigration compliance, unemployment benefits, etc. Make recommendations and execute as directed to ensure compliance.
Recruitment, Hiring and Onboarding – Maintain standard recruiting practices and procedures, implementing and executing on an “as needed” basis.
Training and Development – Identify and manage in-house training programs that addresses company needs.
Planning Conduct organizational effectiveness and strategic HR planning activities (job analysis, developing/revising position descriptions, succession planning, etc.)
Required Skills/Abilities:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree a plus.
- Knowledge of payroll systems and experience in payroll processing is a plus.
- At least five years of human resource management experience required.
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP is preferred.
