Payroll Coordinator

Annapolis, MD

FosterThomas, Inc. is a leading Human Capital Management and Advisory services firm supporting clients nationwide. We are seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join our growing professional services team. In this role, you will learn to process payroll for our clients once you have completed the training program. You will have a mentor who you will also work closely with during your first year in the role. 
 
Responsibilities:

In coordination with a Sr Payroll Specialist  

  • Process payroll data from the timekeeping solutions
  • Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, taxes, and insurance 
  • Able to perform manual adjustments 
  • Compile and submit payroll deductions related check requests and payments 
  • Maintain, prepare and process payroll for organization personnel 
  • Audit employee timesheets for hours worked and accuracy 
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries for period-end 
  • Completes weekly/monthly report requirement 
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, analytical and technical ability 
  • Able to process and track accounts payables 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements  

  • 1-2 years of related business experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multitask and manage duties in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable interacting with clients.
  • Able to learn new business applications and be proficient in the MS Office Suite.
