Compensation and Benefits Manager

Position Summary

FosterThomas, Inc. is a leading Human Capital Management Firm. We are assisting our client in their search for a proficient Compensation and Benefits Manager, based out of Trevose, PA. This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid role. (3 days in office, 2 WFH)

This role is responsible for managing compensation and benefits programs. Plans, develops, and implements new and revised compensation and benefit programs, policies, and procedures to align with company goals and ensure competitive practices globally. Ensures compliance with internal policies and government regulations. Acts as the HR contact for employees in the Trevose, PA office.

Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Compensation
  • Manages development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs.
  • Monitors existing compensation practices and recommends cost-effective, trend-aligned changes.
  • Advises managers on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
  • Designs creative solutions for compensation-related programs and incentive plans.
  • Develops techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data.
  • Oversees participation in salary surveys and monitors data to achieve corporate compensation objectives.
  • Ensures internal and external pay equity, pay for performance, and retention of talent.
  • Partners with leadership to support broad job definitions and skill-based pay initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with compensation laws and regulations.
Employee Benefits and Programs
  • Manages employee benefit programs (e.g., life, health, dental, vision, disability, voluntary benefits, retiree benefits, wellness benefits, reimbursement programs).
  • Provides employee education and assistance with benefits programs.
  • Manages the 401k plan and serves on the benefits committee.
  • Coordinates with Payroll and Accounting for accurate and timely employer contributions and payroll deductions.
  • Ensures compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
  • Leads audits for all compensation and benefit programs.
Employment Law and Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions.
  • Ensures policies, procedures, and reporting comply with legal standards and recommends policy revisions.
Payroll and HRIS
  • Oversees payroll process and ensures records comply with regulations.
  • Coordinates with Payroll Specialists for accurate and timely payroll submissions.
  • Works with Accounting to calculate quarterly and annual bonus programs.
  • Maintains HRIS and time-keeping database tables to ensure accurate records and compile HR reports for management.
Education
  • BA or BS in human resources, business, or a closely related field.
Experience
  • 5+ years of human resources experience.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to compensation programs, company policies, and operations.
  • At least one year of experience managing subordinates.
Other Requirements
  • Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking skills.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and team facilitation.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting and communicating data.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with senior management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and ADP Workforce Now and Payroll.
  • Experience with ADP and Payscale-Payfactors preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
  • 3+ years of compensation and benefits experience in a global organization.

  • Skilled communicator with strong speaking and legal terminology understanding.

Working Conditions
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.

  • Ability to travel (domestically and internationally).
