DIRECTOR, FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION
- Are you energized by stepping into complexity and bringing order, discipline, and clarity where it’s needed most?
- Do you have a track record of strengthening financial operations, improving reporting, and driving accountability across an organization?
- Do you thrive in roles where you roll up your sleeves to solve problems and execute the work, while applying strong judgment and critical thinking?
- Can you lead through change, challenge assumptions, and push for better outcomes while building strong, collaborative relationships?
If you’re energized by challenge, continuous improvement and the opportunity to make a measurable impact in an evolving organization, this role may be the right next step for you. In this position you’ll lead the day-to-day finance and administrative function for a 43-person association and play a key role in improving financial visibility, cash flow management, budgeting discipline, and operational decision-making. You’ll ensure the organization has accurate, timely, and actionable financial information to support executive leadership and Board-level decisions.
You’ll have direct responsibility for the organization’s financial operations, including monthly close, reconciliations, reporting, annual audits, and overall financial discipline. You’ll lead a small internal team and work closely with outsourced finance partners, ensuring all work is aligned, accurate, and delivered on time. While we partner with an external firm that provides advisory and support, you will own the day-to-day execution, accuracy, and timeliness of the organization’s financial operations. This is a hands-on role that requires someone who is comfortable working in the details and ensuring the work gets done, not just directing it.
You’ll need a strong accounting foundation combined with the ability to operate tactically and with sound judgment. You should be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to solve problems, improve processes, and build operational discipline, while also recognizing trends, identifying issues quickly, and translating financial data into practical actions.
This is a high-impact role suited for someone who thrives in a demanding environment and is motivated by solving challenges, improving processes, and delivering consistent results. While human resources and administration responsibilities are included, your success will be measured first and foremost by your financial leadership, operational execution, and the tangible outcomes you deliver for the organization.
To succeed in this role, you’ll take ownership, move with urgency, and be willing to dive into the details while driving broader organizational outcomes. We’re committed to supporting the right candidate’s growth and will invest in development as you build your skills and leadership capabilities.
