FosterThomas, a leading Staffing and Recruiting Firm in the Mid Atlantic is assisting our client in their search for a Staff Accountant located south of Annapolis, MD.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for processing accounts payable, billing, cash receipts, maintaining fixed assets, preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations and other month end close duties. Coordinates efforts with VP Finance, Controller, Directors of Operations, Project Managers, Project Coordinators and other field & administrative functions.
 
Essential Job Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:
Coding, recording and processing supplier and subcontractor invoices in a timely and accurate manner
Preparing customer invoices & submit to Project Managers/Accountant for approval
Process cash receipts
Processing expense reports, credit card and fuel purchases
Maintain fixed assets and equipment systems
Assist in month end close activities, including preparing and processing journal entries
Reconcile General Leger accounts and subsidiary ledger systems
Interact with internal/external auditors during quarterly reviews and audits
Prepare analytical schedules and management reports
Research and resolve any accounting related transaction discrepancies
Provide support & assistance to Accounting, Administration, Estimating & Operations as required Support and execute all company policies, procedures and internal controls
 
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in related field, High school diploma considered with relevant experience
Three or more years of experience in accounting and administration, Construction experience preferred Proficient with various software applications - MS Excel & Word, Sage 300 CRE (Timberline) & FAS Exhibits strong analytical aptitude, problem solving skills, good judgment and decision making ability Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and commitment to meet critical business deadlines Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
