Sales Support Specialist (Financial Services)

FosterThomas, Inc. is a leading HR Management and Consulting firm. We are seeking a Sales Support Specialist (Financial Services) to assist our client out of their Columbia, MD location.
 

Duties

  • Handle all incoming calls.
  • Manage the schedule for the advisor in such a way that any client who calls is promptly handled by the appropriate team member or has a telephone or in person appointment scheduled.
  • Follow “The Law”—every contact with a client or prospect produces an updated record in our database. 
  • Forward any address, phone, or email changes to our Computer Operator.
  • Function as the concierge in the office, making everyone feel welcome.
  • For “long service problems,” i.e., those taking more than 24 hours, update the client daily by voice mail, telephone contact or email.
  • Ensure all forms necessary to establish new accounts are correct and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Process clients wire and check requests, ensuring any relevant comments are entered into Notes.
  • Unless a Sales Assistant or System Manager is on post, understand our computer system well enough to supervise the Computer Operator.
  • Maintain compliance files and calendar.
  • Proof read letters, emails and other promotional materials before they are sent.

Job Requirements

  • Strong educational or work experience background.  
  • An engaging personality.
  • Well organized.  
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time, not only your own but the advisors. 
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Series 7 license a plus.  If you are not licensed, you will be expected to pass the Series 7 within 18 months.
