FosterThomas, a Mid-Atlantic Staffing and Recruiting Firm, is leading the search for a Procurement Manager, for our Client located in Hanover, MD. Successful candidate will:
  • Professionalize the purchasing policy and procedure in line with company directives
  • Achieve competitive rates with domestic material suppliers for both purchasing and distribution functions
  • Achieve a high level of supplier relations and vendor diversification
  • Develop and enforce company’s vendor vetting and quality control requirements
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by achieving highest possible ability for on time material deliveries
  • Provide accurate quarterly and yearly equipment investment planning
  • Reduce landing costs of imported materials through cost control
  • Maintain import/export regulations compliance
  • Create and implement the measurement of SCM KPIs
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a procurement process to include collaboration and consolidation in Accounts Payable
  • Supervise and train relevant company employees on the systems used to analyse material supply and demand as well as purchasing
  • Analyse and report future material supply and demands while advising a course of action to management team
  • Act as company’s point of contact for international material exchange
  • Develop SOP for regional material exchange
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships
  • Develop and manage freight forwarding and broker relationships
  • Create a purchasing process that allows for efficient procurement, decision making while ensuring all quality gates are adhered to
  • Facilitate the exchange and adoption of SCM best practices
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned
 
Requirements:
  • Experience in strategic sourcing and associated process development
  • Experience in purchasing, logistics, and inventory management
  • Project Management and process implementation
  • Commercial understanding of investment intensive rental businesses
  • Ability to professionally generate proposals for improvement and decisions to key decision makers
  • Understanding and ability to work with multiple software programs.
  • Proven use of these skills in formulating ideas in the continuous improvement process
  • Understand international import/export regulations and procedures
  • Strong analytical and organization skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Must be professional with ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Flexible for travel
