FosterThomas, Inc. is a leading HR Consulting and Talent Acquisition Firm. We are seeking a Lead Developer to assist our client in Alexandria, VA.
 
Our client, Tarkik Solutions Incorporated (Tarkik) is a Washington DC based SBA Certified 8(a) Small Disadvantaged Business providing Information Technology and Enterprise Software Engineering services to Federal and Commercial sector clients. Their Federal sector domain specializations include Border Security and Targeting, Maritime Domain Awareness, Global Supply Chain, Import and Export Processing and operationalizing the U.S. Digital Services Playbook. Our Commercial sector domain specializations include Consumer and Commercial Finance and Lending.
 
In addition to their domain expertise, they bring technology expertise in the areas of Open Source Software Development, DevSecOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, Cloud Engineering (Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud), Identity Management, Mainframe Modernization, User Interface/User Experience and Agile Frameworks (Scrum, Kanban and Scaled Agile).
 
This is a long-term position located in Alexandria, VA; and requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DHS/CBP clearance.
 

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Java/UI Developers in developing a new border security application using a contemporary user-interface technology stack and a Microservices Architecture
  • Implement test-driven development methods, supporting end to end testing
  • Implement security and data protection features
  • Practice detailed code review process to provide constructive feedback to other team members
  • Implement Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipeline

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience in user-interface / front-end application development
  • Expert-level experience in front-end development technologies such as Angular, React, and vanilla JavaScript
  • Development experience in JavaScript, SASS, CSS3, HTML and similar technologies on multiple projects
  • Experience with JavaScript testing frameworks such as Mocha, Jasmine, Karma, or Jest
  • Experience with front-end build tools such as Webpack, Rollup, Gulp, or Grunt.
  • Experience with 508 Compliance and Accessibility standards
  • Knowledge of Agile Frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Detailed oriented candidate with experience creating elegant User Experiences
  • Experience with the U.S. Web Design System (https://standards.usa.gov/) a plus
