FosterThomas, a Mid-Atlantic HR and Recruiting Firm, is leading the search for our Client, based in Rockville, MD for their role of Purchasing Agent. 

Work schedule: This is a full time position.  Monday - Friday.  8:30am 5:30pm

Description:
Purchasing agent is responsible for coordinating all activities associated to procurement of materials and supplies. Ideal Candidate will have prior experience in Purchasing. This individual should possess strong organizational, written, and verbal skills. Must have ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
  •          Prepare and process purchase orders for supplies and equipment; compliant with government order deadlines
  •          Assure the correct material was ordered for the different type of government contracts
  •          Complete Tax Exemption Certificates and issue them to multiple vendors
  •          Resolve purchase order and invoice differences with suppliers, as to wrong deliveries, payments, invoices, credits, payment terms, and duplicate billings.
  •          Assist customer service reps track down orders.
  •          Maintain records of goods/services ordered and received.
  •          Act as liaison between client and Suppliers/Vendors
  •          Make effective and independent decisions.
  •          Follow established ISO9001 quality system documentation related to purchasing and production control.
 
Job Requirements:
  •          5+ years relevant work experience in the Information Technology industry
    •          Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of products including, but not limited to Excel and Word
                 Bachelor’s Degree
