The voice engineer is the primary point of contact for all site survey activities. The ideal candidate will be able to assist in gathering all data required for the new voice systems, speak with customers to verify their phone requirements, and inventory all equipment on the site to verify capabilities.
The ideal candidate will possess:
     3-5 years Cisco voice administration
     Solid understanding of Cisco technologies including Voice and Network equipment
     Excellent customer service skills
     Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
     Excellent ability to perform in tense situations
     A proven track record of effective communication with high level government executives and officers
     The ability to work with minimal direction to manage all aspects of assigned activities
     Basic knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies (e.g. MPLS, PPP, Frame Relay, Ethernet, TCP/IP)
     Understanding of voice and network infrastructure running QoS, SIP, SIP gateways, MGCP, H.323 gateways, Voice VLAN, STP, media gateways
     Assess all aspects of a building’s cable plant, network infrastructure, and existing voice systems to determine suitability for a Cisco voice deployment and cutover
     Perform stakeholder interviews to determine call routing and dial plan requirements
     Meticulously document all aspects of each site to be compiled into a detailed site survey report that will be used for the basis of a Cisco voice design and implementation plan
     Assist in creating a technical proposal for each site after the site survey is completed
     Assist in creating a detailed implementation plan for each site after the technical proposal has been approved for implementation
     Assist in staging equipment at the buildup facility and on-site as required
     The place of performance is Chantilly, Virginia, however travel is expected to be 70% and is expected to be CONUS only
     Ability to lift 50 lbs of equipment
     Possess and Maintain a DoD SECRET clearance
