Human Resources Manager

FosterThomas, Inc. is a leading HR Management and Consulting firm. We are supporting a client, a premier general contractor headquartered in the Washington DC Metro region with offices in Atlanta, GA, Austin, TX, Dallas, TX and Denver, CO, in their search for an HR Manager. 

The Human Resources Manager will work closely with the Director of Human Resources to develop and manage policies, procedures and best practices in the human resources department.

Functions:

 
  • Develop and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s HR compliance and strategy needs
  • Manage on-boarding and exit process, disciplinary issues, performance and talent management, productivity, and wellbeing initiative
  • Assist HR department with recruiting, benefits and compensation, and training and development
  • Ongoing review of HR policies and procedure, Employee Handbook, and standard operating procedures
  • Function as a trusted advisor to the organization’s leaders with human resources needs
  • Manage HR systems and technology to maximize effectiveness and efficiency
  • Partner with management regarding compensation administration and provide communication to employees regarding salary increases, promotions, and bonuses
  • Establish and maintain external industry contacts to enhance rand’s image and learn best practices and programs
  • Research and establish with senior leadership community related events
  • Create a best-in-class work experience and culture to assist in earning top workplace awards
  • Work with marketing on employee events planning
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of and experience with human resource information systems; ADP a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Education:
  • BA/BS Degree required in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive human resources/generalist experience

Physical Responsibilities:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop, and kneel
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
  • Light to moderate lifting is required
  • Regular, consistent in-office hours required
  • Possess good hearing (normal or corrected)
